Sign From The Universe? (Or Something Else?)

Years ago, my friend and fellow social media influencer Melanie Beckler made a funny instagram story.

She explained she had just labored her way up a tall mountain to film a video but when she reached the top she realized she forgot her microphone! 

What to do?

What is the universe trying to tell me?

She decided... and this was the point of her story... the situation meant absolutely nothing and simply made her way back down the mountain to fetch the dang microphone!

Just a couple of days ago, I was doing something on my computer when one of my beaded bracelets broke "randomly" - (those crystal bracelets never last for me!)

Beads shot everywhere as if fired from a cannon.

This bracelet did have meaning though. It was a gift from my friend and teacher Steven Jaggers for completing my certification. I went through hell and back to earn that bracelet....(2 extremely deep breath-work ceremonies in 4 days!)

In spite of that, I was in the middle of something so I decided to leave the bead mess and finish what I was doing on the computer before cleaning it up.

When I finished my little project, I closed my laptop and heard a loud POP!

Uh oh, that didn't sound good...

Apparently, one of the stray beads was still on the keyboard so when I closed my computer it cracked the whole screen!

Hmm...

What is my higher self trying to tell me?

Maybe I'm spending too much time on the computer? 

Maybe I shouldn't have sent that email! 

Maybe a new career path is opening up for me? 

Or...

Maybe sometimes accidents happen in physical reality. 

In the past, I would have obsessively dissected that situation all night!

Google... "What does it mean when you crack your computer screen?" 

Interpretation: (there is something very important in your life that you are not seeing)

hmm...

Perfect!

I'll go with that one! haha

What I've learned about "signs from the universe" is that...

the situations that DO have meaning or contain a message...

stand out. 

For me, it's never about "what happens"

it's about how my internal state is affected.

I went for a long time assuming every little life hiccup was a message or warning from the divine.

And to my defense and perhaps yours... this does sometimes happen. 

I've had countless "negative synchronicities" that were indeed a reflection of my being out of alignment in some way. 

But what I made the mistake of doing was giving my power away,

and abandoning my own discernment, intuition, and common sense!

And also the very important fact that...

We have the freedom...

to interpret...

as we wish.

How do I choose to interpret the broken computer screen?

I saw it as a sign of how far I've come.

The fact that in the past that same accident would have driven me absolutely bananas and this time, aside from having to spend a couple hundred bucks,

I got a chuckle out of it,

and an idea for a cool blog post!
